There was still some lingering high clouds which caused the Sun to be hidden, however by the time everyone left those clouds were burning off. Temperatures this morning was about 64 degrees but expected to warm up to the high 70’s to 80 degrees. After breakfast, everyone left to enjoy the remainder of the day. Ride to Ft. Christmas

December 4 - It was a beautiful Sunday morning with plenty of blue sky; however, by 9am it had become a thin overcast layer of clouds above us once we left Panera Bread in Brooksville. Sixteen Gators and friends, George and Annie, Russ, Kayle and Tom, Jim and Kathy, John and Karen, Dave and Linda, Jim and Brenda, Ray, and Greg and Jean Ann, on 8 bikes and 1 trike left promptly at 9am with temperature at 68 degrees and climbing. We headed south to SR50 and went east turning onto Wiscon. We continued east on SR50 until we got to Groveland and then we headed north on SR19. We continued to ride north and east so that we could be north of Orlando as we journeyed to Ft. Christmas. We had several stops before arriving at our destination. There was a festival taking place at Ft. Christmas but we were able to find parking. We all had brought a sack lunch and so we found a shelter with picnic tables where we could sit. After lunch, we had time on our own to look at all vendors and to purchase ice cream or kettle korn. For those that brought their Christmas cards to be postmarked there, we were told we would have to go to the main branch just down the road. After we stopped at the post office, Russ left to return home on his own but the rest of us headed south and west where we ended up going through St. Cloud/Kissimmee where we had an ice cream stop at Baskin Robbins. After a short break, we continued heading west where 5 of the bikes continued to head west towards New Port Richey while the remaining 2 bikes and 1 trike went north towards Spring Hill. Temperatures today got to about 79 degrees, but by the time we returned home they had fallen back to 68 degrees. Everyone returned home by around 7pm. Miles ridden today were approximately 300. Long day but a good ride to Ft. Christmas. To view the photos   Click here.

Breakfast at Rams

November 26 - The day was gray with a promise of rain and cool. 27 Gators and friends came out to Ram’s today so that we could all be there for one another, Ray and Jan, Peter, Angie, Barbara and Johnny, Pam, Cheryl, Jeannine, Russ, John, Tom and Kayle, Neil and Barb, George and Annie, Jim and Kathy, Dave and Linda, Frenchie and Patsy, Bill N., Bill T., and Greg and Jean Ann. The skies opened up and the rain fell as if even heaven was crying with us as we shed tears for the loss of our dear friend Ginny. We did the quarter toss and Pam won $3. It was so good to see everyone there for one another. To view the photos   Click here.

Ride to Yalaha

November 13 - 8 Gators met at Panera Bread North, Rich and Ginny, Russ and Linda, Dave and Linda, and Jean Ann and Greg. We left shortly after 9am with Dave in the lead. What a beautiful morning. Clear blue skies with no clouds in sight. The temperature was a cool 63 degrees on arrival at Panera Bread but by the time we left it was already up to 68 degrees. We headed north on Sunshine Grove Road and turned east on Centralia until we were able to turn onto Citrus Way. We followed Citrus Way until we turned onto Lake Lindsay Road and followed Lake Lindsay past the Lake Lindsay Mall and on past Nobleton and Bushnell. We continued east to Center Hill and took East Kings Highway (which is SR48). We stopped for short break before continuing east. We started seeing a few fair weather clouds in the sky and the temperatures were climbing so some of us removed some of our gear. We stayed on 48 until we reached Yalaha Bakery at about 11:30am. Once inside the bakery several of the Gators took the opportunity to have lunch while a few others decided on a delicious pastry. After a relaxing time eating and visiting outside on the picnic tables it was time to go. The temperatures by this time had climbed to about 78 degrees. Greg took the lead and heading west on 48 we turned north on 27 towards Leesburg. Heading north for a short way we turned west aiming towards SR44. Since we had time we decided it would be nice to stop at the Russell Stover Outlet to pick up a few chocolate treats to take home with us. YUM! Russ and Linda decided to head on back home taking I-75 while the rest of us continued on west on SR44 towards Inverness with Dave again in the lead. Once at Inverness we went south on US41 and once at Brooksville, a few of us stopped for iced coffee and we said goodbye to Dave and Linda. It was a beautiful day to go for a ride. The total miles for today was 146. To view the photos   Click here.
